My Thyroid Story: From Hyperthyroid to Hypothyroid

Back in November of 2016 I started experiencing a wide-range of symptoms that were completely foreign to me. From extreme anxiety and panic attacks, to weight loss and no appetite, to a wide-range of stomach issues, to insomnia, hair falling out and cracking fingernails I knew something was wrong. After a visit to my primary doctor and a physical conducted I was told “you are fine!” I knew that wasn’t right, I knew I wasn’t find. I was diagnosed with “Severe Anxiety & Panic Disorder” which was a misdiagnosis and could have cost me my life had I not kept searching for answers. I wanted to share my story in hopes that someone else struggling with the things I went through will continue to search for answers and not settle for anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications and to search for the root of their issues and not just mask the symptoms.

Thyroid Disease is a very real thing that effects far too many people and is sadly far too often misdiagnosed as something else entirely. I hope my journey will be able to help some of you on yours.
