You don’t need to be counting calories to enjoy a healthy, sweet treat now and then. Today I’m going to share some of my favorite treats with you.Few things feel as good as indulging in something sinfully delicious that doesn’t pack on pounds. Serving these nutritious delights will also teach your little ones that healthy doesn’t have to meal tasteless. In fact, they are delicious and good for your body, too.
I enjoy chocolate, but you can omit it if you want.
1/2 banana, sliced thinly
1 tablespoon nonfat vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon semisweet chocolate chips
Layer it into slices, or simply pour the yogurt over the bananas and top with choc chips, or crushed nuts.
This recipe is perfect for when you buy a big bunch of bananas. Slice them all and freeze in portion-control zipper bags. They stay for a long time, and are on hand when you need them for a smoothie, or for this delicious ice-cream.
1 sliced banana
* 1 scoop chocolate Shakeology OR 1 teaspoon peanut butter OR 1 tablespoon choc chips OR 1 tablespoon fat-free yogurt for flavor.
4 whole-wheat graham crackers
4 tablespoons skimmed ricotta cheese
4 teaspoons jam
Spread ricotta cheese on each cracker, and add half a teaspoon of jam.
2 cups nonfat fruity yogurt
1 1/2 cups fresh berries
1 1/2 cups fresh, frozen or canned fruit (pineapple is divine!)
Layer the fruit and yogurt in glasses and serve, with a cherry on top.
With these recipes, you will be the queen of healthy desserts.
