5 DIY Face Masks For Gorgeous Skin

Let’s be honest, we all want gorgeous skin without the hefty price tag it usually comes with. Little do many of us know that we might already have all the ingredients we need. Here are 5 DIY face masks to give you the beautiful skin you’ve been looking for at a fraction of the price!

  1. Honey & Lemon Face Mask:

Lemons are full of AHA’s and BHA’s, which not only remove dead skin, cells, but also help clear your black heads and acne, as well as any discoloration. Honey works as an antioxidant and antibacterial. The addition of cinnamon is great for reducing inflammation and redness.

What you need:

  • 2 tablespoons of pure honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 wedge of fresh lemon

How you make it:

  • Mix the honey, lemon, and cinnamon into a bowl, and gently massage the mixture onto your face while avoiding your eyes.
  • Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and then gently rinse off.
  • Finish up by applying your favorite moisturizer.
  1. Oatmeal Face Mask:

Oats exfoliate and sooth rough skin and are especially great for healing eczema and acne breakouts. The great part about this mask is that it can be easily be used on other parts of your body to treat dry skin patches as well. The honey acts as an anti-bacterial and can help relieve agitated and inflamed skin.

What you need:

  • 1/3 cup of raw oats (or instant oatmeal)
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of plain unsweetened yogurt

How you make it:

  • Add the water to the oatmeal and stir together.
  • Add the honey and yogurt, and for best results put in a blender for ultimate smoothness.
  • Smooth the mixture over your face and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  • Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
  1. Avocado Face Mask:

Avocado makes for a great moisturizing mask to soften and smooth your skin. Another plus, is this mask can be used as a hydrating treatment for your hands as well!

What you need:

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice

How you make it:

  • Mash the avocado until it’s soft.
  • Add the yogurt and honey and mix together until they form a paste.
  • Smooth the mixture onto your face and leave on for about 15 minutes.
  • Rinse off with warm water.

Egg whites work on all types of skin, but especially on oily skins as they work to tighten pores and rid you of acne-causing bacteria. Orange juice adds a touch of vitamin C, and turmeric contains brightening properties that help even your skin tone.

What you need:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon of orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder

How you make it:

  • Thoroughly mix the ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Lather the mixture onto your face and let it sit for about 15 minutes or until dry.
  • Once dry, gently rinse off with warm water.
  1. Brown Sugar Scrub Face Mask

Brown sugar works as to exfoliate and remove dead skin to give you a clear complexion. The addition of coconut oil makes for an extremely moisturizing mixture for healthy looking skin.

What you need:

  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil

How you make it:

  • Combine the brown sugar and coconut oil in a bowl and stir.
  • Apply the mixture to your face in gentle circular motions.
  • After a few minutes rinse with warm water and pat dry.
